This website
The pages about Apex Track Works (the home page, For Venues and this notice) set no cookies, use no analytics scripts or advertising trackers, and have no forms. Our server counts how many times each page is viewed per day and which website or campaign link the visit came from, as totals only, with nothing that identifies you. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and to discuss a possible partnership.
The pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details. See Google’s privacy policy.
Virtual circuits
A virtual circuit is reached through a link and access code that a karting venue gives its customers. When you drive one, we store:
| What | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A random guest ID, your display name, which circuit you entered and when your visit expires | A signed cookie, gw_session, on your device. It can’t be read by scripts on the page and expires after seven days. | To remember that you entered the access code and which name to put on your laps. |
| Each lap you complete in practice: display name, guest ID, time, kart, settings (tyres, wear, fuel, driving aids), track and software versions, and when it was saved | Our lap database (Cloudflare D1) | To show the leaderboard and your personal best. Laps that look implausible are kept for review and not shown. |
| Daily totals of how many times a circuit page was opened, the access code accepted, a display name chosen, driving started and a lap saved | Our database (Cloudflare D1), as counts per circuit and day, with nothing that identifies you | To see whether people get from the link to driving, and where they stop. |
| Your preferences: kart setup, driving aids, controls, gearbox and display options | Your browser’s local storage, on your device only | So the simulator remembers your choices. Clearing your browser data removes them. |
We don’t ask for your real name, email address or any account, and we don’t store your IP address, location or driving telemetry. Your display name is shown to other drivers on that circuit’s leaderboard, so don’t use your full name if you’d rather not. The access code itself is never stored by your browser.
How long laps are kept is agreed with each venue and shown on that circuit’s page.
Hosting and security
The website and simulator are hosted by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the service from abuse, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details. We use your IP address briefly to limit repeated access-code attempts and lap submissions; we don’t save it with your laps. Cloudflare keeps short-lived operational logs of requests and errors; our own code never writes access codes, cookies or what you type to them.
Your choices
- Use Leave demo on a circuit page to remove the cookie from your device.
- To have laps set under your display name removed, contact us with the circuit, the name and roughly when you drove.
